Meghan Powers LGPC

(She/Her)

Meghan Powers, LGPC (She/Her), begins her therapeutic practice with the belief that each person harbors the potential for personal growth and well-being. . . And that sometimes the world gets in the way. She focuses on bringing strengths to light, and providing support managing your mental health while you move toward your goals, and find authenticity and fulfillment. Meghan's approach is grounded in person-centered therapy, ensuring that she meets you where you are, recognizing and valuing your unique experiences and perspectives.

In her work, Meghan integrates narrative and play-informed approaches, providing a rich, dynamic framework for therapy. This methodology allows for the exploration of your personal story and the roles you inhabit, utilizing creative and engaging strategies to rewrite and reshape your narrative. Such an approach not only facilitates a deeper understanding of self but also promotes healing and growth in a manner that is both effective and deeply respectful of the individual's journey.

Meghan's approach includes a unique blend of traditional talk therapy and "geek therapy," appealing to those who find expression through pop culture and fandoms. This approach enables a unique connection and therapeutic experience that resonates on a personal level. She offers a safe and affirmative space for LGBT folx, those exploring various aspects of identity, relationships, and the nuanced experiences of those engaged in CNM, Polyamorous, and Kink dynamics. With Meghan, you engage in a collaborative process that honors your story and empowers you to navigate life with resilience, creativity, and joy.

She welcomes those within the kink community who are seeking therapy and want to work with someone who is sex positive and affirming. She utilizes a trauma informed approach in her work with individuals around:  ADHD, Autism, Mood Disorders (Depression, Bipolar), Anxiety, Trauma, and Life Transitions.

While this profile focuses largely on her work with adults, Meghan does work with older teens as well (16+), and uses a person centered approach, integrating “geek therapy” which may include narrative or experiential activities.

Outside of work, Meghan enjoys reading Science Fiction and Fantasy novels, writing, and video games (current favorites include Stardew Valley, Baldur’s Gate 3, and Helldivers 2). Mostly she loves relaxing at home with her husband, dog, and two cats.
